Sebastián is revealed to be a Seer after he convinced a group of survivors living in an abandoned bus station that he had access to a generator. While Anna is suspected to be alive at first, it’s later revealed that she is a figment of Sebastián’s imagination and died months earlier, after she was forced to look at the monster by a priest named Padre Esteban. Sebastián is part of this group, dubbed Seers. However, some people don’t die - rather, they regard the deadly creatures as angels and force others to look at them in order to “save” their souls. Anyone who sees the horrifying force is immediately led to their demise. In Bird Box Barcelona, the same unseen monster from the first film terrorizes and eradicates society. We follow Sebastián and his daughter, Anna, as they navigate the decimated streets of Barcelona - but we soon discover that Sebastián isn’t the good guy we initially believed him to be. Bird Box Barcelona, a spinoff of the 2018 film, dropped on Netflix on July 14 and while the post-apocalyptic thriller takes place more or less around the same time as the original, we’re introduced to a new cast of survivors in a new city.
